In the church of Our Lady Koubelidiki Kastoria (about 1260-1280) there is a very interesting and rare depiction of St. Triados. The display occupies the dome of the inner narthex of the church and of the iconographic type is “fatherhood”. God the Father, full body, in the form of the Ancient of Days sitting on a rainbow holding in his arms a bearded Christ in mature age (the second person of the Holy Trinity, the Son). The Holy Spirit as a dove is placed in the hands of Christ in a “medal” light. God the Father bears halo-shaped cross. This type of image in which the three persons of the Holy Trinity is represented on the vertical axis is rare in Western and Eastern Christian art before the 13th century.
